Starbucks

This is what I wore to meet another mom at Starbucks this morning*.

The top is from Modcloth.  Size Medium.  I thought it would be WAY more flattering than it is.  It makes me look like a linebacker: widens my shoulders.  That's why I wore the scarf (plus it's cold outside).

Do you buy clothing online? Any tricks to make online shopping more successful?

*According to the scale, I have 15lbs to lose.  According to my jeans, the weight is sitting around my middle, butt and thighs.  (Baby is only 2 1/2 months...I have lost 35lbs, yes - I gained 50lbs with both pregnancies! Don't judge!)

  1. I think it looks super cute with the scarf! Nice boots too! Don't feel bad about the baby weight... I only gained about 20lbs and it took me 4 years to get back to my pre-baby weight! (And I don't think my mid-section will ever be the same... at least not without some serious ab work, which I'm just not motivated enough to do!)

  3. I'm inching close to 40 lbs myself. Same thing with the first one. I found it took me a good 6-9 months of breastfeeding and walking to get it off. In the end, I weighed less than when I started! And yes, I buy clothing online all the time but only if it is super on sale. Then I don't feel so bad if it doesn't work out.

  4. Oh man, I think your shirt is great! I don't think it looks unflattering at all, but maybe you just disguised it well in the photos :) The colors are great anyway. I buy clothing online now and then but it has to meet both of the following criteria: 1) I can return/exchange it if I need to (no final sales for this girl) and 2) It's in a shape that's been tested and tried and I know works well for me. All experimenting with silhouettes must be done in brick and mortar stores only :) So happy to have found your blog - I'm a new follower now!

  5. you look great! it takes me a good year to get back to normal after a baby. and like someone else said my stomach will never be the same :) the only clothing i buy online is lands end canvas. I do buy shoes from piperlime + zappos for the kids, and it is so easy to return what doesn't fit

  6. You look fabulous as is...where are you going to find that extra 15lbs to lose? :-) The top is cute but I agree it can be either a bit longer, or tone down the blue color flanks. Oh I buy stuff online like crazy that it's almost an addition. I won't buy anything in store without checking if there are any better and cheaper options online. Recently I am addicted to Beyond the Rack and Modnique types of brand name web outlets.

  8. I remember last time I was still +10lbs after 9 months. I panicked a bit because of the saying "it takes 9 months to put it on, it could take 9 months to take it off" Then I started watching what I ate and running and the last 10 came off no problem.

this time I am eating much better...but I haven't been out walking yet. I need to get a double stroller!

  11. just came back from my postpartum exam (6 weeks) and I still have another 13 kilos to loose! I also gained over 25 pounds both times...still have to wear my maternity clothes but they are too big now so I have nothing to wear that looks OK on me...any suggestion to what to buy for this transitional time? my main problem right now, besides big belly, is my uppe part ( my girls grew 4 cup sizes since pre-pregnancy :(((() BTW, you look great in those boots and skinny jeans!

  12. Congratulations!! Six weeks already?????

I wear size large champion sports bras.....they have great support, and I lift to nurse so it works fine....
Nursing bras look pretty, but they lift separate push up and create cleavage. I wanted to minimize the bosoms!!!!!

The jeans I bought on sale after my first pregnancy.....they are two sizes larger than normal size...and even now I have a muffin top! I know they will practically fall off in no time though......still, you to wear something until you get your body back!

Jeans are black orchids in size 29, I have a pair in a slightly lighter wash in size 28 and grey in size 27......before the babies I could fit in size 26, but then again, I lived on microwave popcorn and diet coke (2 things I haven't touched in years....I avoid aspertine and we don't own a microwave!!!!)
