What would you wear on the evening news?

Twenty minutes before their arrival, I was notified that Citytv was coming to do a quick interview.  (about Participaction*) The baby was sleeping on me in the Ergo at the time, so all I could think of was "how am I going to wash my bangs?**", not "what am I going to say?"

This is what I wore + the ergo and sleeping baby.

I wish I could have transformed into a full out beauty queen...but, in the end...I was 100% a mom! Ugh, seriously, what kind of g.d. get up is that?

Watch it here   (my face is much fuller on video than in life...I'm all cheeks!)

*I knew in advance we were one of the media families for this story...but it was still pretty last minute.  We were also interviewed for the National Post, our photo made it into Winnipeg Press.
**it didn't happen!  My greasy bangs and beige boots will be on TV tonight...I'm blushing just thinking about it...I don't want to watch!  I could've been a bit more prepared...shame

ps...this is my "hey mister, you get off of your brother right now!" face

  7. I was also wondering about the apple in your hand. I thought somehow that's tied into the ParticipAction theme, or you were just looking for a pop of color. :-)

  9. That's right! Why didn't they introduce you as "Shannon, the design blogger behind 8Foot6, and a mother of two..."? You would've scored a primetime ad for free. :-)

  14. Great interview! I have done a couple and always look like a stammering fool. You're a natural. :) And Tyler is super duper cute. Now I need to go find an app for tracking my kids' physical activity time...

  15. Shannon, You looked like a natural on t.v. Awesome job! It must feel great to be participating in such an important awareness campaign.

  16. Seriously, your bangs were banging! They don't look greasy whatsoever. Totally charming, both you and Tyler. This little segment is totally making me evaluate my time spent with my niece. Good stuff.

  21. You are on the front page of the Winnipeg Free Press! There's a small pick of Tyler playing hopscotch with you and baby in the background. Then on the last page of the first section, there's a bigger version of the pic and a 2 column article. I just had to tell you that your bangs look fine. :)
