Anyway,
you have an organised place you have here. I bet you can think straight in a place like this. However, even though it's spic and span, I think you should try to find standard open wall shelves of any size at a home improvement center for an inexpensive storage solution for books and decorative objects. A structured wall unit or entertainment center can house books and electronic equipment and provides space for decorative displays. If you're going to stay in your home for a while, you might want to invest in custom-made shelves or cabinets.scarlet reynoldsnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1189121861977780830.post-62245090498669419602011-07-25T17:46:51.461-04:002011-07-25T17:46:51.461-04:00JORDANA YOU ARE A BRILLIANT LADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...JORDANA YOU ARE A BRILLIANT LADY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The speakers I can't touch...unfortunately...nor the stereo stuff...he isn't completely satisfied with his sound set up yet, so that's another reason why we are on hold...could be more components coming in, or some going out!Shannonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09933224703431682343noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1189121861977780830.post-41539930223928622892011-07-25T17:46:51.287-04:002011-07-25T17:46:51.287-04:00Ha ha - thanks Shannon. Just offering my suggestions since you asked for it.
Thought of something else - since you have to keep all those electronic things - how about painting the tv/electronic wall black (or even the lower half?). I know it would make the space darker but you have great lighting down there and if you did that then all the black electronics would be camouflaged. And either get a black stand (or paint the one you have black) that is husband-approved.Jordana @ White Cabanahttp://whitecabana.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1189121861977780830.post-66470541329900086502011-07-17T16:15:45.963-04:002011-07-17T16:15:45.963-04:00Ha ha - thanks Shannon. I also think those teak/beige chairs are gorgeous although I hear you about the out of place issue.
I know those foam floor mats are great for kids but how about getting rid of them and getting another beige/sisal/matching carpet for that area or leave it empty? Or maybe have a look at those FLOR carpet tiles. My eyes just go directly to the kid zone.
Have you thought about moving the kid zone to the left side of that post where the chair is (in your first photo). That might break up the 'everything is on the perimeter' feel.
How about getting something like this (http://www.ikea.com/ca/en/catalog/products/30116080) for all the electronic components under the tv?
Do the tall speakers need to be right beside the tv on the floor? Can they be moved to corners?

Jordana

p.s. Congrats on the garage sale!Jordana @ White Cabanahttp://whitecabana.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
