Why not hide this media stuff behind built ins?
We could build one long set of built ins along the entire wall (at the height of the ledge). I am pretty excited about this. The storage capabilities, and the clean lines. My husband is not convinced, so I drew him a picture.
I need your help! Do you like the idea of one long built in? Or stick with just a media cabinet? Please vote!! All comments on this issue are very welcome! THANK YOU FOR VOTING!!!!
I love the idea of long built-ins. I think it will look fantastic and you'd have so much great storage!
ReplyDeleteI definitely vote for wall to wall built-ins. Its a good compromise and it cleans up the look of things.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the long built ins! It gives symmetry to the wall somehow...
ReplyDeleteI think your hubby's getting outvoted! :) But seriously, long built in all the way.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the idea of a built in. I was so happy when we bought our house and there were built in cabinets in the dining room and hallway.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a long built-in. Always love the integrated look.
ReplyDeleteCould you get away with one of those "faux-denzas" that people are doing lately. There have been some neat ones around the blog-world.
ReplyDeleteWe went from a TV on a media cabinet to a full wall of Ikea's Besta (full length and height of wall) in our basement with the flat panel hung in it. We kind of had to hack the Bestas a bit. Other than our complete kitchen remodel, putting up all this basement storage is our most gratifying project to date. I think a lower cabinet the full length of wall would be great! You'll never regret having all that good looking storage.
ReplyDeleteI have to send you a photo of our basement (or maybe do a post on it) - this is exactly what we did and I love it!
ReplyDeleteYes! Go for it! The horizontal lines definitely compliment your clean modern style. It will be super fabulous.
