Souvenir Foto School

I signed up for Besotted Brand Blog's Souvenir Photo School. I learned about the class through Lisa @ Wicked & Weird.  The idea is to take one photo a day for 30 days, using the alphabet as a guide.  Then upload the photos to a flickr group to receive feedback.

Here are my first three photos....A is for Apple; B is for Book; C is for Candle.  I also picked a theme: stacked.  I have already learned a ton from the other participants in the class.  I hope to understand the camera and its settings a bit better by the end of the month.

I will share the photos with you every Friday!  Here's hoping I don't run out of things to stack!!!

  1. Amazing. At the end of the month can we print some and put them in the frames over my sideboard?!

  3. That's pressure Janice!!!
Besides, I think they are going downhill after my apples! I am not happy with the Candles, but I don't have time to try Cards, or Cans, or Crayons, or Candies....

I wish I had baked some cookies....

  4. Tomorrow D is for dishes - I think? I am going to try a local restaurant to see if I can take a photo in their kitchen...

  10. Love the lighting in these photos, and I assume you didn't use flash? (that's supposedly a big no-no these days from I've heard). How did you get the lighting right for the objects to look so real? WB & ISO settings?

  11. Hi Michelle!
For the books I used f/8 and a pretty high ISo to capture the detail with no blur

Really, I try what I think will work first, then usually tweak it a bit once I see the results.
