I signed up for Besotted Brand Blog's
Souvenir Photo School. I learned about the class through Lisa @
Wicked & Weird. The idea is to take one photo a day for 30 days, using the alphabet as a guide. Then upload the photos to a flickr group to receive feedback.
Here are my first three photos....A is for Apple; B is for Book; C is for Candle. I also picked a theme: stacked. I have already learned a ton from the other participants in the class. I hope to understand the camera and its settings a bit better by the end of the month.
I will share the photos with you every Friday! Here's hoping I don't run out of things to stack!!!
Amazing. At the end of the month can we print some and put them in the frames over my sideboard?!
ReplyDeleteLovely shots and great idea to practice and focus. I 'll forward to your Friday posts.
ReplyDeleteThat's pressure Janice!!!
ReplyDeleteBesides, I think they are going downhill after my apples! I am not happy with the Candles, but I don't have time to try Cards, or Cans, or Crayons, or Candies....
I wish I had baked some cookies....
Tomorrow D is for dishes - I think? I am going to try a local restaurant to see if I can take a photo in their kitchen...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos. You already have fabulous skills, you will be a superstar photographer by the end of the month.
ReplyDeleteYa but don't you think they'd look great? You could sign the back and everything. SM originals. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThese are so good - I love your theme too Shannon.
ReplyDeleteThis is great! So fun! These are amazing so far!
ReplyDeleteI had no idea why I was looking at what I was looking at, but I was really happy looking at it...love love love the books....totally frame worthy...I should know I own an art gallery ;) I quite like the candles myself...sorry you're not happy with it...you fickle artists.
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!
Love the lighting in these photos, and I assume you didn't use flash? (that's supposedly a big no-no these days from I've heard). How did you get the lighting right for the objects to look so real? WB & ISO settings?
ReplyDeleteHi Michelle!
ReplyDeleteFor the books I used f/8 and a pretty high ISo to capture the detail with no blur
Really, I try what I think will work first, then usually tweak it a bit once I see the results.
well done. my favourite is the A for Apple. I should sign up next time...saw it on Lisa's blog and then got busy and forgot...baby brain!
ReplyDeleteok these are killer! looking forward to you series! man i need some serious lesssons!
