Getting ready for 11th or 12th or 13th annual street sale
We making invitations for the street sale to deliver to every house on the block.
I don't mind organizing the sale. By 'organizing' I mean setting the date, doing a bit of advertising and crossing my fingers. I can never tell if people are interested, but it is too much work, or if they are just hoping I forget so that they don't have to feel guilty for not participating.
Turn out was horrible last year.

No Show
We decided to hold our street sale on the COLDEST DAY OF THE SUMMER.
COLD + DAMP + DREARY = terrible turnout at the sale
No one was coming. We packed it in at 11am and headed out for brunch.

Street Sale
I have been combing through the clutter in my home, looking for items to sell, and this is what I've come up with!
We have participated in the annual street sale three years in a row*, so the obvious or junky stuff was sold off or donated a long time ago. I am now digging deeper. I actually feel a surge of pride** when I put something in the give/donate pile. It is liberating. Who knew editing could become just as addictive as purchasing? I am routing around for more items...I know I can do better than this!
*my neighbour stopped by to say his family has joined in for the last ten years...I had no idea it was such an event! We live on a great street, that's for sure!
**yup - pride...patting myself on the back! Way to go Shannon! You are a champ!I am so excited I want the sale to start.right.now!
ps. My three year old is involved....he has selected a few toys he is willing to give away to other little boys who do not have many toys...
pps. Janice helped me let go of another pile of things from the 1980's.
ppps. Mom, don't worry
UPDATE: You see? I could do better! I am not stopping yet!
