A better photographer

The camera joined us on our morning walk today.  I thought I would capture the fall colours (but not many trees have changed yet...)

I'd sure like to become a better photographer ('photographer' may be a bit presumptuous, I want to become a better 'picture-taker')...

My better half has suggested I read through some of his books on the subject.  I am certain that this is great advice, and its bound to help, however, there is an AWFUL LOT of content there, and I don't know where to start.  (Ok, I know where to start, just open a book and turn the pages... its just, since I know I will never be THAT good, I purposely-without-knowing avoid reading anything on the subject)

DO YOU HAVE ANY TIPS?  HOW DID YOU GET GOING?

ps...Volume itself is not enough to improve my photos...*sigh*
pss...also want to become better blogger....cook....and stylist....and...and...and...

  1. have you ever used the snipping tool? it would help get your photo's side by side without having to learn a new software program. feel free to email me and i can provide you with some screen shots of how it works.

  2. I can completely relate to your desire to be better at things. I've picked up so many hobbies during my life that I never really pursue. Fortunately it's never too late to learn a new skill - good luck!
