We had to chop down a relatively young tree on the weekend...a maple that was growing about three inches away from the foundation of the house...the tree hadn't caused any problems yet, but it was a ticking time bomb...
I neatly stacked the wood in the fireplace
I like to think of it as 1/3 FULL, not 2/3rds empty...the logs look ok there...I will toss them in a yard waste bag if I tire of it...(our fireplace needs a makeover, an inspector advised us against using it because the chimney is in poor shape, judging by the amount of black soot everywhere, the previous owners used it freely...)
What do you see when you look at the painting hanging above the fireplace??...I'm just curious...because I see a Hippo...

I totally see the hippo! Nice painting! I like the logs - gives it a bit of "homey"!
ReplyDeleteI like the logs, especially because they are newly cut. Okay, i see a close up of a shoulder, with the arm and elbow. Weird huh?
ReplyDeleteI also see the hippo- but I like it!
ReplyDeleteI see a black monster biting off a white sheep's head who is looking right at me!...sorry! mine is kind of dark!
ReplyDeleteLove the wood logs!! I see a hippo too!
ReplyDeleteLove the freshly cut logs.
ReplyDeleteI see swirly, foggy clouds. I love your painting ... who is the artist?
When I first looked at the painting, I thought of being under water, looking up toward the sky. Very beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBut I can see the hippo, too. :)
The painting is by David Gillanders:

...Oh and I should add that I ADORE IT! Its as if you took a nap in a shady spot under a tree in a very lush forest and this is what you see when you wake up, those few seconds before your eyes adjust to your surroundings, and then you can see clearly again...
ReplyDeletelove the logs - the painting is calming...
ReplyDeletehmmm - can't see the hippo. i see a horse....wait maybe that's the hippo everyone else is seeing!
ReplyDeleteJust found your blog and I totally love it.
ReplyDeleteFor the record I see a moose standing in a swamp... at the edge of some grass...
