Oh no you didn't

Why yes, I did!
For most of the way home, I managed to carry the two chairs under one arm, while pushing the stroller with the other...then I wised up and hung one chair on each of the stroller handles.  I LOVE THEM...I couldn't get them out of my head! I needed them...We are going to keep them! - sorry J!

(The chairs were $4.99 each -- bo-ya-ka-sha!)
This milk glass vase and little georgia o'keefe type floral jar also followed me home!

  3. oh, its so nice to see I"m not the only one obsessing about interior design things :) love the chairs and all the paint marks. And for the record, I would NEVER, have even thought of bringing something home if I had to also push a stroller! WOW! I'm a whimp compared to you :)

  5. Hard Core! So worth it though. What an amazing steal.
Weird question for you. Do you ever worry about bed bugs with your pre loved purchases?? I find that holds me back.

  6. nope...I never thought about bed bugs...I generally don't worry about much...

besides, I don't buy anything with soft surfaces - no stuffed animals, or clothes, or ...i guess the carpet was a bit of an exception...

  11. Hi JND - maybe Santa will still bring you a little something! All he needs to do it hit a thrift store with $5 and he could get you something you would treasure!

  12. Shannon - I was just flipping through my June 2010 Style At Home and in the table of contents they showed a pic of chairs like yours with a caption "Style for less - thrift store $2 find worth $235 - page 170" but of course I had ripped out page 170 so I don't know the details. Anyhow, you scored big. They're great looking chairs. Are you going to paint them? Could they work at the desk area in the basement?

  13. Hi RR! I don't have that issue! If anyone else does, can you scan the page for me? I will see if its at the library next time we go!!!!

    sooo exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried the basement...I'm so so....basement hasn't been 'done' yet...i think they are too cottagey as is - but might work if I paint them

  14. I would definitely paint them and in a funky colour which will make them really pop as they have wonderful lines.

  15. Just came back to see if you responded to my inquiry and your comments are hilarious. Researching on the internet doesn't always help does it.

Sorry! Didn't mean to freak you out! It's just my own little hang up with buying previously enjoyed items. Your lovely chairs definitely don't have them and I see you have been out thrifting again. I would hate to think that I ruined it for you.

  16. Shannon - I think your chairs are a version of the Mademoiselle chair from the 1950's. Google it!
