'Tis the season for shopping, no?
I ran out this afternoon to fetch two of these
great leather totes!! (I only meant to get one, but that's before I found out they came in two colours) They are exclusive to Chapters/Indigo...for only $39!! Like the coupon says, a $158 value!!!!!!
I have a couple
1 of very nice handbags, that are too heavy (gorgeous hardware), or not quite large enough..so I often (always) end up carrying around a used shopping tote...I even brought a Roots shopping bag with me to the restaurant
2 the other night for family dinner...
If you have someone left to shop for, I would recommend this bag!

1. I have two bags...a tan miu miu hobo and a chocolate tod's D bag
2. A Chinese restaurant...I was packing a Dora book and some toy cars
3. I would also use it as a second bag...you know, to hold overflow? All the stuff you can't fit into your main purse

ReplyDeleteThe bags are great - but one small thing to watch out for. I bought books at the same time as one of the bags, and put the purchased books in the bag. When I got home, and took the books I, I gasped. There was a lot of black fluff clinging to the pages. (The bag is not lined, so anything you put in the bag is in touch with the rough side of the leather. I did not know that the rough side of the leather had fluff like this, as I don't have any experience with unlined leather. I guess that's one of the reasons why they line bags with leather.) As the books were intended as gifts, I was a bit shocked. Thank goodness for those dusting cloths that attract dust (like the "swiffer" ones). The books weren't as pristine as they once were, but they were respectable enough to gift. If I had to do it all over again, I'd give the inside of the bag a good once over with a white cotton rag to get all the bits of fluff out.
ReplyDeleteLast night I finally managed to get to Chapters. Was surprised they still had these bags left. Bought one (solid black). Love it. Good to know about the fluff issue.

I use the bags for everything now! The fluff on the red handles did rub off on my coat, but otherwise I haven't had too much trouble...I bet new books are like fluff magnets!
