I decided to let go of my great aunt's sewing machine/table
I was a teenager the last time I used it.
I tested it out a couple months back, and it doesn't work.
I think it needs to be oiled up after decades of idleness.
The top is pretty stained. Its veneer. Its heavy. It smells like dust. It needs a little TLC, maybe a lot.

It's beautiful and with a little elbow grease and love, would be gorgeous. Kudos for letting it go - I wish I wasn't doing the same thing in my house or I would take it in a heartbeat! (I'm a sucker for antique sewing machines) Good luck finding it a new home!
ReplyDeleteGood for you! It can be so difficult to let go of things we have owned (even if unused) for so long - esp. with the sentimental element. Must feel so much "lighter" in your home without it.
ReplyDeleteHow much?
ReplyDeleteI just want the table...
