The wine was recommended by the gentleman at the LCBO. (I asked for a dry red to braise lamb shanks in.) He went with an inexpensive bottle of Chilean, Frontera Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot. Is it only me, or does red wine smell sooo tempting while pregnant? I just sniffed...don't worry! During both pregnancies now, I have found the smell of red wine intoxicating!
Let me know if you are interested in the recipe. I made this before, so I am sure it's yummers!
UPDATE: DElicious! Very rich...my son and I split one shank, my husband was able to eat two!

I haven't tried to wash it yet (it looks new still)....its holding up beautifully! Our last rug needed a weekly wash, and it showed all kinds of food stains..so this is a step up
