Decluttering the Basement

There's nothing like a clear counter top*
It says, 'whatever is on me, shouldn't be...clean up your act buddy'

*I moved the magazines from the under the stairs counter / desk to the floating boxes...and the books on the floating boxes to the ledge under the poster

(The 16 foot counter has been installed in the storage room, but the curtain isn't up yet.  I know what material I will use for the curtain...I just need to get out to the store...and sew...and velcro...)

  1. I haven't said this yet but I love your basement. Most people try (and fail) to make a basement into a main-floor-esque space, but this only works if there's a walkout and the perfect situation. Instead, I love that you've embraced the features of the basement (concrete floors, unfinished stairs, industrial feel) and made the basement into an informal but great looking room. Well done- not many people can do this!!!

  8. exactly!
I asked my husband why we didn't do this sooner...he reminded me that he wanted me to move the magazines so he could set up a commodore computer under the stairs...
OH YAH! That's why I left them stacked!

  9. Thanks! The Feist poster was an impulse buy...we saw her in Toronto during that tour...at least, it had all those colourful jewel things dripping down behind her on a huge screen.....so I think it is one and the same!
