Can you believe it took me 34 years to discover blush? Don't get me wrong, I have always owned a compact or two. However, I thought of blush as a finishing touch...the order was something like: toner, serum, moisturizer, SPF, concealer, foundation, eye liner, powder, mascara, blush.
Then I stopped wearing makeup. I barely have the time to wash my face these days! If I am feeling saucy, I might apply eye liner and mascara...
Then I read this statement:
"Three things that make me feel more glamorous? Blush, first! Always blush!..."
DINGDINGDINGDING!!! We have a winner! You can apply blush, without any of the other stuff! Why didn't I think of that? Now, I wear a touch everyday...it is incredible the difference it makes! I am not sure you would notice the change, but it makes me feel pretty! Very pretty!
Do you have a favorite beauty product?
Blush is my number one piece of makeup. It perks up my whole face! I have a powder version (MAC) and liquid version (Benetint) and they're both great!
ReplyDeleteMy order is 1. Blush 2. Mascara 3. Concealer under my eyes.
Yay to be back on blush! Benefit's Dandelion is my all time favourite. I would even use it to powder my nose.
ReplyDeleteI need new make-up! I am thinking about going to MAC for a complete review. ...my 'wouldn't leave the house without it' product is eyebrow powder - eyebrows frame the face and mine are very light/thin, so a bit of powder applied with an angled brush is my go-to..and I've recently discovered eyebrow threading...I vow to never wax/pluck again. It's amazing.
ReplyDeleteI agree! My favorite beauty product is the Nars duo compact with blush and bronzer....its amazing!
ReplyDeleteyep blush! Took me awhile too :)
ReplyDeleteLurve Nars blush in Desire. Just a touch on the apple of your cheek. I didn't discover it till 37!! So you are 3 yrs ahead of me!!
ReplyDeleteMy Rimmel mascara. One stroke and I feel much much better after a sleepless night with the baby! By the way, I have almost the exact same mirror-tray!
ReplyDeleteIf I'm going to wear any makeup, it has to be blush (because I'm fairly pale and tend to look ghost-like without any colour, ha!) and mascara because my eyelashes are blond/nearly invisible. which is not sexy.
ReplyDeleteFor me it has to be color on my lips - I think it wakes up my whole face.BTW, I just discovered your blog and I I really enjoy your style!
ReplyDeletei love my blush, and lipstick and liner....
ReplyDeleteThanks Kate!
ReplyDeleteI used to be all about the mascara...but I am lazy when I remove it...so inevitably I have smudgey eyes the next morning because I never get it all off!
ReplyDeleteMy eyebrows do their own thing now...I take care of them once a month...I never mastered the art of the brow
ReplyDeleteYep I always wear blush or everyone asks me if I'm feeling okay. Also some time in my 30s I lost my lips and started wearing lipstick - it works wonders for making my face look healthy and alive.
