Packing Light

packed

Mini escape coming up! Here's my plan for what to wear!

Top left: Flight outfit, top right, bottom left: sightseeing, bottom right: dinner like a lady. One pair of boots, on pair of jeans (leggings for the plane) one jacket, three sweaters and extra tank. I am going to mix it up and re wear everything!

ps. not identical to the stuff I own, except the UO scarf, Club Monaco dress, boots, and duffle. Carrying a cheap H&M cotton messenger bag with broken zipper. It is the perfect size and takes some serious abuse.
pps. TEASER!!!!

  6. The poncho I own is from the Gap last year...or maybe 2 years? It's navel blue cable knit turtle neck with buttons at the side, so it opens up into a blanket...ESSENTIAL for a red eye!

I will type up my trip in 5..4...3...2...1....

we're taking a red eye to amsterdam in about 6 week. Our two side kicks are a 4.5 year old and a 8 month old (at the time). Any tips on how to fly with a (hopefully) sleeping 20 pounder in the lap? :)

  8. Know two things: you will not get any sleep that night, and the time (7-8hrs) will pass. Don't put pressure on yourself to sleep! Just help them to be comfortable and you can nod off, or watch a movie, or close your eyes and think about your ass, which will fall asleep, and how you wish you could lie down blah blah blah...but let the clock do it's thing, tic toc tic toc and you will get there and it will be worth it. We went to coppenhagen with a big kid and a lap baby and they both just curled up and passed out on the way there. It went pretty smooth! Coming home, however, took 10 hours and they were bored...that's when we had some tantrums. Unavoidable. Tic Toc Tic Toc, it really is a moment, and then it's gone...and it's a year later somehow!

Other advice: Get ready for the line ups...Bathroom break for 4.5 year old before security or customs...or pull ups if you have to...

Amsterdam is a great city!!!! Have fun!
