New Art

This work sat and sat and sat next to the bathroom at Around the Block, waiting for someone to see how amazing it was! I saw it two weeks ago, but made it sit an extra week until the price dropped to $60.

By: George Rackus (signed by Rackus, and if you look at George Rackus paintings, it is in the same style), here is his bio from the National Gallery of Canada.

Numbered 1/1 and dated 58.

I was instantly caught by the indigo blue. Loved the scratches and the gloopy ink or paint. I didn't google the artist until after I brought it home. The fact that I could find artist information online was a bonus.

The frame isn't special, but whatever. I could spray bomb it silver, but I will leave it for now, since it has to be moved. This wall will be ripped down in a month or so...

ps. I just bought a small woodblock print from ebay, and waiting for the shipping & price on another...

  2. These are beautiful! And they'll definitely hold up well to being used more than one time, so that's great. I would definitely reuse them! If your sis in law has 2 daughters, I'm SURE she could find another use for them :) Great job!

  6. I really hope that you take a ton of pictures and post a lot about this renovation. Sounds like it's kind of a whopper. Show it all…the good, bad and the ugly. There is so much to learn from a renovation…things you didn't know that you didn't know until you know!
