This is what the basement looked like when we bought the house.

Green carpeted banquette? Check!
Do not enter sign? Check!
Gold stripper poles? Check!
Musty green carpet (that covers up an open drain)? Check!
(Kindly note: The gentleman in the photo, our agent, is only about 5'5" ... the ceiling is LOW)

What's not to love?  The smell for starters...

...so we made some improvements (and the demo didn't stop there)
