Oh no!...I don't like the 'polished concrete' sample they showed me this morning. I took a picture of the block but to be honest the photo makes the whole thing look like crap.
I really like the 'trowel finish' (concrete done with a power trowel, very smooth; the centre part). In the photo it is looking a bit bleached out. I would deepen the colour closer to slate. If we want it shiny we have to put an epoxy on it. I think we have to seal it either way.
The top right and bottom left corners are examples of polished concrete, you can see that the aggregates peeking through the surface. Oh and no worries - I wont be tinting the floor orange or green.
We are going to inspect the floors at Mildred Pierce to see what they have done. If I like it I will send the contractor there to show him. Thanks for the tip M!
