Creating a corner wing off the desk with an old door

While catching up on the one and only celebrity gossip blog I just can't live without...(well, that doesn't quite sound right, I don't actually read her posts everyday, I save them up for couple weeks and read everything at once - I like to take my drama in heavy doses!)...I started thinking about the office, again (well, I am sitting in it, and all, so that's not too much of a stretch)...and then I started thinking about all the construction leftovers in the garage (ok, this might be a bit of a surprise, but let me tell you, I spend a lot of time thinking about the misfit materials out there)...and I decided to try something:

I say "illusion" because nothing about the current set up is permanent....its an old hollow core slab door (with a splash of bird poop on it**) sitting on top of a stack of books that are sitting on top of the computer...the door needs legs, it needs to be cleaned and painted and it needs to be affixed to the lion cabinet.  (I have to take the wheels of the lion cab because my little one thinks its a truck).  Doable though, right?  I figure this Sunday, maybe? Wink wink?*

OMG I am finally starting to like the changes***...I really don't want to spend a lot (or any) money...this room will not remain the office forever...

Ok, you may have noticed the stacks of books on the floor surrounding the chair****...these are larger books that would CRUSH my shelves (not to mention we are at capacity)...so I stacked them along the wall, and deposited two wooden bowls and a empty jewel box (a gift from my university roommates) neatly on top of the stacks...

*yes, I'm talking to you Dad!
** So I cleaned the poop off using Green Works Natural Bathroom Cleaner (it was nearby)...hey, I guess, Sarah R isn't the only one who can plug that product!  BTW, they aren't paying me :)
*** OMG - what am I, 13 years old?
**** I turned the exposure compensation down and the ISO to high and crawled under the desk to take this shot...I suck at photography, but I like to play around!
