Paris with Toddler

The last Paris post - I promise!!! (don't forget to enter the CSN Giveaway)

A quick summary of travelling to Paris with a 17monthold with some pretty pictures taken by my better half.

Loved the birds!
7hr flight over - no problem (we purchased him a ticket, brought carseat and brought DVDs for him to watch) return flight - nightmare --> Charles De Gaulle Terminal 3...need I say more?
Place Vosages..
Metro - we used less than two carnets over two weeks...
We went everywhere on foot
Versailles - had to carry a 30lb little boy through entire palace (can't bring stroller in)...

Murikami at Versailles...and a sore back

Pompidou centre - He loved the small kids play area...ran around the main gallery with one of us trying to entertain/catch him and the other taking in the art...(stroller = tantrum, LOUD TANTRUM)
forget museums for now
Shopping - HOT inside department stores...cold OUTSIDE...and everytime I removed his coat he wanted to get out of stroller and run around...we eventually went shopping separately...one parent stayed home with him
Clock I wanted from habitat - happened to be set to my birthday!

Flea Markets - he got bored (and hungry) super quick...carried him and searched for toy cars...
I loved the 3 pieces of colored paper used to show off this frame...I want to DIY this

Restaurants - very accommodating...just make sure you make a dinner reservation!  No high chairs but he was ok on my lap, or his own seat....brought toy cars to dinner to entertain him...also long as you can anticipate his next move and temper tantrums, you are good to go (pretty much the same as taking him to a restaurant in Canada)

Fire alarm at restaurant in adjoining building...the firemen have shiny helmets

Food - he ate everything, even escargot (he has 12 teeth already, including molars, so feeding him was easy)!

View out the window...rue Buci - with a ton of great restaurants and a carrefour
Nap? - One stroller nap, otherwise we returned home everyday for a break...time change wasn't so bad on the way over...he has been out of sorts ever since we got back

Accommodation - we rented an apartment...it showed its age more than we expected...and was crammed full of stuff a toddler shouldn't play with...but good size and great location
