I have kept this blog for a little over a year now and its been a lot of fun! I love that this record of the past year exists! Blogging allowed me to invite the world into our little two-story brick home. ...It was through blogging that I was introduced to some wonderful people whose comments were often one of the highlights of my day! I have to say that overall, its been a 100% positive experience and I enjoyed every moment!
So why goodbye then? Lately, I have been asking myself the following questions: Why do I blog? What is the goal of this blog? What could I be doing with my time if I wasn't maintaining a blog? I am not exactly inspired by the answers I come up with...In fact, it seems like blogging is taking away resources (time) that I could apply toward attaining my 2011 goals...
Thank you to everyone who has come to visit and stayed a while. Thank you for your comments. Thank you for providing me with inspiration on a daily basis. Thank you for allowing me to maintain this small corner of the internet. Its been fun!
THANKS EVERYONE! You guys are AWESOME! Its going to be hard to stay away, since I have so much to say...still, I need to refocus my energy (because even when I am not blogging, I am always thinking about what I will say next...)
ps..yes I will still be thrifting!
Update: Thanks again for all your kind comments...its because of you that I have stuck with it! And I am glad you stuck with me!!!

Your photography in the last couple of posts has been really beautiful. Maybe you could just post a few photos a week for us to look at! Trying really hard here to make you stay around for awhile....
ReplyDeleteAgreed with all above posts. Will miss your jaunts around all the GTA Goodwills and your awesome finds. I hope you keep your blog up so I can come back for inspiration as we reno our house. Best of luck on your new adventures!

Shannon, I'm so sad to see my favourite Craigslist finds posts go, and your thrifting awesomeness, but....I totally get it. I'll always think of the adventure of getting those chairs, thanks to you. :) Hopefully I'll see your name once and awhile! xo
ReplyDeleteWow! I just spent 2 days reading all of your archives and was looking forward to following you. But I can certainly understand how hard it is to have a young family and how busy you must be. Enjoy and thanks.
ReplyDeleteBut I just found you and you're my favorite!
ReplyDeleteBut, it has to be for you, first and foremost.
All the best.
Shannon - Really sad to see this post... just got into blog reading a few months ago and loved yours! If you get the urge or find the time, please post some updates. Your followers will still be here! Thanx. Delta

ReplyDeleteWow...so sad, but I also understand as I often think of throwing in the towel! Good luck with all your 2011 endeavors!
ReplyDeletehmmm curious what our auntie shannon is gonna do next. :) Enjoyed your tireless decor finds and all the updates on the renos. Loved the basement when we visited. :)so open and bright and very Shannontized haha.
ReplyDeleteI"ll miss your fantastic finds and seeing what you've been doing around the house. On the other hand, I can totally understand how much time and energy a blog takes and that may not be where you want to spend yours now.
ReplyDeleteShannon, you have been my inspiration! This blog helped make a complex and intimidating renovation project understandable for ordinary people. I read through every entry about the underpinning process at least twice and was able to get my basement reno underway with confidence that I knew what to expect.
ReplyDeleteI'm blogging about my own basement underpin now, and I fully acknowledge that my blog is derivative of yours (although I'm not in your league when it comes to design).
Thanks for all the time you've spent on this blog. I hope it makes you happy to know that complete strangers like me have benefited from your efforts.
May all the good karma you've accrued from this blog repay you a hundredfold in wonderful secondhand finds!
Oh no! So sad...completely understand, but still sad...maybe you can just dictate your thoughts to a 13-year-old that follows you around and can type things up for us to read? ;)
ReplyDeleteGood luck and enjoy - you will probably have more time on your hands than you know what to do with (hopefully!).
Oh no! Say it ain't so...
ReplyDelete-Jordana
