A plant tour

New/Dining room/Ficus Microcarpa/Ikea/came in pot/purchased to go here
Old/moved to basement/?/Home depot/new pot from Ikea
New/Foyer/ZiZi/Ikea/Old pot from topiary that died
New/Kitchen window/ponytail palm/wal-mart/using milk glass planter
New/Dining room/Dracaena/Ikea/pot from ikea/purchased for this corner - please grow 4-5 more feet!
Old/office/kinda dying
Old/Guest room/Spider plant/corner store/I can not get this plant to co-operate, no matter where I put it, it just doesn't seem to work with the room, so I found a sunny spot, and I will leave it there
old/perfect spot for my brass server!

...I should have taken some photos along the way as I moved plants from room to room, switched planters up to four times, tried this, tried that...

I wish I could get decorating right on the first try...unfortunately, I have to see something, to know if it works...I need to test out EVERYTHING before I commit...and then, maybe, I stumble upon something good...its all trial and error...

  1. Plants does wonders to a space. I love the Dracaena and Zizi. My lobby has full grown ones and I wanna take it! The brass servers are so perfect for your cactus collection. And trust me, it's trial and error everyday for me. But I think it's funner that way. Move things around. Keep the space stimulated.

  3. Love the Dracaena and Zizi and your cacti = cute in those pots.

Unrelated question - did you put in the rad cover in the first pic or did you make it/have it made? I'm thinking about getting one for our living room.

I LOVE the light in your house!

  5. What an awesome selection of plants. And I just love the Ikea containers. Most of mine are in either Ikea pots or milk glass. They make the plant the focus!

p.s. Everything will grow - don't over water (My mom's a florist and she keeps reminding me of this).

  7. It's funny how you say that you wish you'd taken pics of the 'during' process.....for some reason, I only like others to see it when I feel like it's 'done'. But I, too, take about 10 tries before I get it to feel right!
