Earlier today, Kerry's Dad (Kerry of
First Time Fancy fame), built us this beautiful cedar table and benches!
Unfortunately, the pea gravel patio is not level...it's about 2 inches out...I hope they can top up the stone.!!
What do you think? WE LOVE IT! Thanks Kerry's Dad! We highly recommend using Kerry's Dad for any carpentry project you are planning! We would jump at the chance to hire him again!!!
ps. I want to paint the bentwoods glossy black (next summer), what colour would be your first choice?
Love the table! Think black will look nice, but worried it will be very HOT on the bum when you sit on them!
ReplyDeleteMeant to add: "Maybe grey?"
ReplyDeleteNiiiiiice. Love the table. And the chairs would look fab black - or a bright colour, like lemon yellow. I am officially obsessed with a bright, citrus yellow.
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS!!!!! You are quite the lucky gal. I think you couldn't go wrong with black. I think yellow would look good. Or maybe a kelly green? And white of course - but they'd get dirty quickly if you kept them outdoors all summer long. Just beautiful Shannon!
ReplyDeleteLove the table and how it looks in your backyard! I'd go with au naturel perhaps in a clear weather-resistent lacquer/stain.
ReplyDeleteWOWZA! That is one awesome table. It looks just PERFECT there. I think I would paint the chairs a lime green for the garden, but I also love the black for your modern space. Charcoal might also work well - just a shade or two darker than all your patio stone! This is SUCH a beautiful back yard!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, Kerry's Dad! That table and benches are beautiful. I'd go with charcoal grey for the chairs.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - I'd love to see the chairs in a rainbow of (tasteful) colours. Maybe an unexpected combination. Did you see the post on Coco&Kelley a few days ago about pastels and black together? Maybe something like that...where else can you have so much fun with colour. (And you can always repaint!)
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I like the idea of black, but I'm also a sucker for really juicy colors. Maybe lime green? Or hot pink?!
ReplyDeleteGo Kerry's Dad!!! :) I would do glossy black too, because if I did them in fusia pink I might regret it. On a second thought, they might make me smile! :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful patio! Love the idea of the gravel, will do this in my backyard too! Thanks!

Now that it one gorgeous table...and the benches...awesome. Enjoy them.
ReplyDeleteMy god that man is good! ;) haha I'm so glad you are happy with it, and he definitely did do a beautiful job. Me and B's parents were just admiring it.... and wondering why I've never asked him to make me a table!! haha
ReplyDeleteI'm actually in love with it! I like the idea of you doing the bentwood's in black, and maybe keeping the seats natural!?
Thanks for giving him such a great recommendation too Shannon! :) Are you okay if I use some of your lovely photos to share his project on my blog?
Beautiful table and benches! I think the chairs would look gorgeous in a charcoal colour.
ReplyDeleteOf course Kerry!
ReplyDeleteWe are LOVING the new set up! Next big BBQ is Aug long weekend! The family is definitely eating outside!
Amazing! He did a great job! Black would look nice. What about a shot of bright colour? yellow? red? green?
ReplyDeleteholy moly! that table is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThat is one badass table. I'm sure it will weather well and look delish with black bentwood chairs. Can't wait to see images of your impromptu summer gatherings around that table. Just awesome!
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!

ReplyDeleteThe table looks wonderful! We're actually in the process of building a similar, but smaller, table for our backyard so your post has motivated me to get moving.
