The worst job ever

This morning I set about the task of sorting the rest of the hand-me-down clothing that my brother dropped off last weekend.  Five bins of clothing that my older son and my nephew wore.
This is one of those jobs I DREAD.  I usually enjoy sorting through clutter and organizing...but there was SOOOO MUCH STUFF!  I ended up with three garbage bags of clothing that I will be giving away...the piles all over my living room are what I am keeping.  This is at least double what I had for my firstborn.

ps...now that this mess is all sorted out, I will dive into the Christmas ornaments...

  2. I can understand your pain/frustration. I have an 11 and 7 year old girls and get clothes from various persons from time to time and have to do the same. But think about the money you`re saving - Its truly worth it in the end.

  3. Wow, look at you go!

I don't mind sorting as long as the item in question is clean and poses no threat of hiding centipedes (I was doing basement sorting recently, so these fears are on my mind)

  4. That's true!
Some things still have tags on them...gifts that were given but the wrong size for the season, or, because my son was a mini GIANT!

I am just glad its all sorted out!

  7. So many people don't take this job on...they just fill the bins and dump it on someone else and say - here you go...you deal with this mess!! I remember when I was pregnant bags of maternity clothes arrived at my door and honestly most were not wearable - stretched, stained, holey, etc. I think some people just can't bring themselves to divide and conquer. Good for you!

  8. Wow! So many little clothes :) I've been sorting the preschooler's old threads for the new bub too. If it's a girl she will be a very blue one ;)

  9. But it's all so cute! I loved getting the hand-me-downs back from my sister when I had my second son... it was fun to see all of the cute things that my first one wore and be able to use them again!
