Kitchen Rug

A lot of people ask me about the care of the kitchen rug...well, maybe three people have asked..but still...

You are all going to get the answer.

The tag on the rug says 'dry clean recommended'...but I tossed it in the front loader...on handwash...cold/cold with Ivory Snow detergent...it is taking forever to air dry!

Looks as good as new!

Has it really been over four months since I cleaned it.  Gross!

OMG I JUST FIGURED OUT HOW TO CORRECT THE WHITE BALANCE OF AN IMAGE IN PHOTOSHOP!!!!!!!!

  2. Smart! Let's how I usually clean dry clean-labeled items that are not too expensive. I also try to dry them in low heat, which makes air dry faster later on.

Your photos are gorgeous! My two mat leave goals are a) to whip this bod back into shape and b) take a photography class. ...hopefully I'll learn all about whitebalance!!!

  4. I never take anything to the dry cleaners except suits. I wash everything on cold/delicate - feather jackets, rugs, pillows etc.
White balance - it can make such a difference in a photo don't you think? I change my white balance in Aperture, probably similar to what you found in Photoshop.

  5. Hooray! Did you do it with levels or some other way? (the white balance I mean). The rug looks great - I put down a little red Ikea rag rug by the sink inspired by your kitchen.

  6. With the curves...and the white eye dropper...

I want one of those 1970's round or oval rag rugs...you know? the large ones...we had them when I was little...not for the kitchen...
