The pea gravel patio in our backyard has become a busy work site. My son lies down in it, scoops the rocks with his hands...runs his hands through it like a 'dozer' to make roads...this morning he was 'digging trenches for the new houses'...
We don't need a sandbox after all!
I am in LOVE with pea gravel. Anytime the man and I are watching a period piece on tv, I point out the pea gravel driveways (Downton Abbey, anyone?).
ReplyDeleteHow does it fare in the TO winters?
I love pea gravel too, and have been trying to convince my better half to do it in part of our yard for the last three years! I think it's very french looking. Maybe this will help convince him. I'll try
ReplyDeleteDowntown Abbey as well.
Lol.
Haha this is too cute. You are lucky that your elder son can keep himself entertained. Still loving and envious of how stylish your backyard is!
ReplyDeleteOh, to be a kid again! Your backyard looks so pretty. Can you fix mine? I'll trade you a play kitchen (yup, finished mine - finally).
ReplyDeleteLove this!!! Is it easy to keep clean? I have a pretty big property and there are tons of areas in need of a total redo, we have been thinking grass but that's boring, ha ha (and we already have tons)...
ReplyDeleteWe just put it in last summer....and I wouldn't call that a typical winter...so I will let you know!
ReplyDeleteI've never watched Downtown Abbey!
ReplyDeleteIt hasn't been a problem to clean yet...plant and tree bits mix in, and slowly disappear. Raking the leaves off in the fall wasn't a big deal...
ReplyDeleteit would stay looking GREAT if my son didn't dig through it (and scatter the gravel around the yard)...but a quick rake and it looks new again!
